      • Understand the chemical properties of glaze materials and how they respond to different kiln environments
      • Explore aspects of colour in glazes and surface finishes and use set recipes to achieve a range of effects
      • Research and apply various glazes for artistic and practical ceramic pieces
      • Handle your pieces safely throughout the glazing and firing process
      • Work safely in a ceramics studio, including handling wet clay and glaze materials
      • Use raw glaze materials

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend you have:

    • An interest in developing your ceramics skills

    • Some experience in the production of ceramic works, including creating bisque-fired ceramic ware that have been glazed with pre-mixed, commercially available glazes

    • The ability to purchase the clay used in your course (approximately $25)
