Create two personally designed, completed ceramic works to take home. Learn techniques and processes including handbuilding, surface treatment methods, bisque and glaze firing. You may be surprised at how much you can achieve in this short course.

Apply handforming techniques to make sculptural and functional forms
Handle ceramic work and structures safely throughout the creative process
Apply ceramic design elements and learn basic kiln firing principles

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
A visual diary and two finalised ceramics pieces completed during the course.

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An interest in exploring the clay medium
An interest in using your hands to make objects and don’t mind getting messy
The ability to supply your own Personal Protective Equipment such as enclosed shoes, apron, dust masks and gloves
An awareness that this course may be physically demanding on your back
The ability to supply ceramic materials.
Basic literacy and numeracy equivalent to a Year 10 level and above
Basic computer skills
