The TAFE NSW Bachelor of Creative Practice allows you to specialise in your arts discipline, choosing from visual arts or music production and performance. In this course, you’ll develop your creative and entrepreneurial skills through a range of creative projects. You’ll have access to one-on-one studio time with industry-experienced teachers, while you make valuable networking connections, build your portfolio and strengthen your technical skills.
This bachelor is equivalent to a three-year degree program, and year one is available through advanced entry only. To qualify for advanced entry, you must hold a relevant advanced diploma or diploma qualification. The fees and course duration will be reduced, depending on how much advanced entry you are granted and the study load you choose.
Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

A nationally recognised bachelor’s degree (AQF level 7)

Experience in producing creative works as a professional and consistent practice
A sound understanding of the marketing, financial and strategic decision making that encompasses a successful creative arts career
The confidence to collaborate with your peers on live performances, exhibitions and other arts events
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
Provide 3-10 examples of creative pieces related to your chosen specialisation as part of your application.
The first year of the Bachelor of Creative Practice is delivered as a TAFE NSW diploma in a relevant creative discipline.
Students who have completed an Australian nationally recognised diploma in a related creative field may get credit for the first year of the degree and will require only 2 years (full time) to complete the bachelor.
Students who have completed an Australian nationally recognised advanced diploma in related creative field may get credit for 18 months of the degree and will require only 1 1/2 years (full time) to complete the bachelor.
Students who are granted advanced standing based on their completion of a relevant diploma or advanced diploma will not be required to pay the full course tuition fee advertised below, and will only be required to pay for the subjects they enrol in. This may reduce your tuition fees by up to 50%
Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

Completion of this course requires you to successfully complete 22 subjects (240 credit points). You will need to complete 80 credit points per year, which is made up of 8 subjects in Year 1, 8 subjects in Year 2, and 6 subjects in Year 3. The subjects you complete will depend on whether you choose to specialise in visual arts or music production and performance.
