To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Completed a Certificate III or IV in Screen and Media, or equivalent formal study or industry experience
Experience using the basic features of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint in order to write text documents, create basic spreadsheets and prepare presentations
A computer or personal laptop to support the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
A smart device with applications to undertake sound and video recording
An aptitude for both technical and creative work
The capacity to work occasional early and late hours and on weekends
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level

This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Screen and Media qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 units of competency, including 4 core and 11 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
