To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
A year of prior experience, which may include being self-taught, playing a musical instrument, practising as a vocalist, or creating music with software. Students may consult with their teachers at the beginning of the course to determine their experience levels.
An interest in music technology, sound production or music business
Access to a personal computer, software like Microsoft Office and the internet, as some elements of this course are delivered online. This may be available at a campus library
Availability to attend rehearsals, functions, and live performances outside of class hours, including evenings and weekends

UnitsUnits taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Music (Performance) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 11 Units of competency, including 3 core and 8 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
