    The TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) delivers industry-specific training programs. These programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of employers. They focus on developing real-world, practical skills and knowledge that is highly relevant to the workplace.

    When studying at the IAT you’ll undertake training that has been co-designed and co-delivered with industry professionals, TAFE NSW and university partners. 


    About us

    In partnership with TAFE NSW, the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) provides specialised training through microcredential courses. These are designed to equip you with the most relevant and up-to-date skills needed in the workplace today. You’ll learn new microskills in line with regulatory changes, keep up to speed with advancements in technology and learn other niche skills.

    These courses are tailored to complement your current experience level. 

    These cover areas such as:

    • construction project management
    • computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing
    • artificial intelligence
    • cyber security
    • big data.

    Guide to enrolment

    Entry requirements

    Each microcredential and microskill course has specific entry requirements that are needed prior to study. These entry requirements (prerequisites) depend on your course. They are stated in each course description.

    How to enrol

    Enrolling in your course is simple. There are four easy steps to follow:

    Step 1 - Open Enrolment

    Visit the IAT home page. Select your course to begin the enrolment process.

    Step 2 - Entry Requirements

    As microcredential and microskill courses have entry requirements, you will be contacted by a member of the IAT team to verify your evidence of the prerequisites you have submitted.

    Step 3 - Payment and Agreement

    After your course enrolment is confirmed, you will:

    • need to make payment, and
    • agree to the terms and conditions.

    Once processed we will send you an email receipt. You will then be asked to complete and submit an online information form.

    Step 4 - Confirmation

    Once your application is verified, you will receive written confirmation of your enrolment.

    If requirements are not met

    If you do not meet the entry requirements:

    • you may be able to transfer to another course (subject to availability), or
    • receive a full refund of the fees paid.
