Lord’s Taverners Grants Program

The Lord’s Taverners TAFE NSW Grant Program exists to support equitable access to study at TAFE NSW.

They are awarded to students who demonstrate a genuine interest in and commitment to their chosen career and identify themselves as experiencing educational or financial disadvantage or need.

The Lord’s Taverners TAFE NSW Grant Program funding is provided by Lord’s Taverners Northern Rivers Incorporated – ‘Giving the young and disadvantaged a sporting chance’.

The Lord’s Taverners TAFE NSW Grant Program would like to support students from TAFE NSW Kingscliff, Murwillumbah, Byron CLC, Ballina, Wollongbar, Lismore, Casino, Maclean, Trenayr, Grafton, Coffs Harbour & Coffs Harbour Education Centre, Nambucca CLC , Macksville, Kempsey, Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Taree and Yamba CLC campuses.

Closing date: 5 pm (AEST), Friday 20 September 2024

To be eligible for the Scholarship you must meet all the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must be actively enrolled in an Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) accredited course at TAFE NSW, from Certificate II level up to Diploma level (inclusive).
  • You must be undertaking the course at one of the following TAFE NSW campuses: Kingscliff, Murwillumbah (incl. CLC), Byron CLC, Ballina, Wollongbar, Lismore, Casino, Maclean, Trenayr, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Coffs Harbour Education Centre, Nambucca CLC, Macksville, Kempsey, Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Taree or Yamba CLC.
  • You must demonstrate a commitment and motivation to study with a view to successfully completing the course.
  • You must demonstrate educational or financial disadvantage or need, such as through:
    1. being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent;
    2. being disabled or experiencing a long-term medical condition;
    3. being long-term unemployed (greater than 6 months) and seeking to enter the workforce;
    4. experiencing low socio-economic status or being a Centrelink recipient;
    5. being a young person at risk;
    6. experiencing or having experienced domestic or family violence;
    7. having carer responsibilities and/or experiencing barriers to childcare access;
    8. recovery from addiction; or
    9. living in a rural or remote area of Australia or experiencing barriers to transportation.
  • You must not have previously received the Scholarship or be accessing any other TAFE NSW scholarship, grant, or bursary.

You must also be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen, be living in NSW and meet all of the applicable TAFE NSW enrolment requirements.

Unless otherwise approved by TAFE NSW, you must be either commencing or continuing a course in Semester 2, 2024 and cannot defer your commencement date. Your Scholarship application may be terminated if your enrolment status changes (e.g. you withdraw from your course).
