    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • An intention to enter one of the following industries: film, video and television, radio, journalism, 2D animation and 3D animation, 3D modelling, character design, digital media, specialist make-up, special effects, content creation, games design or game art

    • An interest or experience in creative media, including self-taught experience or studies at school

    • Some ability to draw or illustrate

    • Basic computer skills to learn use new software

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

    • TAFE NSW may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test.

    • This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Screen and Media qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 11 units of competency, including 3 core and 8 speciality units.
