To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
A familiarity with computer programs such as Word
A personal computer that is CAD capable (Computer-Aided Design program)
The ability to be adaptable to change, whether that be in design or on the construction site
A willingness to work with new technology (Computer-Aided Design) or any new construction techniques
The ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a larger design and construction team
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level

and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

Licensing
A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who require access to construction sites. You do not need one for this course, but it may be needed for employment options. Visit the Safework website for more information on applying for your white card.

UnitsUnits taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 Units of competency, including 0 core and 12 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
