Provide valuable workplace mentoring to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff and support organisations through Reconciliation Action Plans, as a mentor or tutor. Engage with Culturally specific, Community-based mentoring approaches and empower people to achieve their study and career goals.

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Sufficient maturity and work or life experience to be able to mentor Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People, within Community and workplace requirements

  • Cultural awareness training such as the Course in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education if you are a non-Aboriginal learner

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Mentoring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 9 units of competency, including 4 core and 5 speciality units.

Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
