The Undergraduate Certificate in Finance and Investment is a short course for people who work in business and want to understand and interpret financial information. Gain practical knowledge in borrowing and investment strategies, business finance, statistics and basic accounting, that you can apply in your career.
If you already have extensive relevant workplace or study experience, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to complete this course faster. Plus, if you continue your studies with the Bachelor of Applied Commerce, you will receive credit for the subjects you complete in this qualification.
1 year part time
Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Apply knowledge of financial concepts and reporting requirements in line with business, finance sector and legislative requirements
Analyse statistical and financial information and apply it in business and financial contexts
Consider and act on opportunities, constraints, problems and issues when developing business management strategies, to achieve the best outcomes for an organisation
Apply ethical practices when working with clients and stakeholders
Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating your ability to be persuasive and effective at resolving problems and conflict
Develop specialist skills to gain an advantage in the job market
Graduate with an Undergraduate Certificate in Finance and Investment
Confidence to understand and interpret financial information for your business
Accounting knowledge that is valued by a range of industries, including the financial services sector
Recognition of prior learning for Bachelor of Applied Commerce. The 4 subjects studied in the Undergraduate Certificate will be recognised and credited towards the Bachelor of Applied Commerce qualification, with a fee deduction
This course has been accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
Completion of a Certificate IV or higher level qualification in business or financial services or
At least three years’ experience working in a business or retail environment
Attend a pre-admission interview where you may also be asked to complete a short literacy and numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support
Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.
