The Undergraduate Certificate in Business Management is a short course for people currently working in business or retail environments who wish to manage a small business or move into management or supervisory roles. Enhance your business skills with 4 subjects covering management and marketing fundamentals, finance and investment and foundations of accounting. If you choose to continue your studies with the Bachelor of Applied Commerce, you will receive recognition of prior learning for 4 of the subjects completed in this course
6 months full time or 1 year part time
Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Apply knowledge of accounting concepts and reporting requirements in line with business and legislative requirements
Analyse financial information and apply it in business management contexts
Consider and act on opportunities, constraints, problems and issues when developing business management strategies, to achieve the best outcomes for an organisation

The confidence to start or enhance your own business as you will have foundational skills and knowledge in marketing, management, business, finance and accounting
Gain recognition of prior learning if you go onto further study with the Bachelor of Applied Commerce. 3 subjects studied in the undergraduate certificate are recognised and credited towards the bachelor’s degree, with a fee deduction
This course has been accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification in business or business management or
At least 3 years' experience in a business or retail environment
Attend a pre-admission interview where you may also be asked to complete a short literacy and numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support
Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
A PC or laptop with good internet connection to access your study materials and complete and submit your assessments. You can access this equipment on a TAFE NSW campus, however we highly recommend you have your own equipment available. Online learning environments are accessible on mobile, but you will need a PC or laptop at times.
You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.
