A Sydney TAFE fashion design student is in the running for a $2,000 prize and a coveted internship with a popular Australian fashion label.
It took Pascale Gay, from Sydney's Collaroy Plateau, three days to create her nature-inspired dress in the creative competition run by Westfield Warringah Mall. Pascale has named her frock design 'Conch' after the sea shell, which is a nod to her northern beaches inspiration.
Westfield set up a workshop at the shopping centre where participants were able to bring their designs to life under the guidance and advice of fashion expert Henry Roth from Project Runway Australia.
"He was very passionate about everyone's work and I found his guidance very useful," Pascale said of Mr Roth.Pascale will soon be graduating from fashion design at Sydney TAFE's Ultimo Campus with a major in textiles. The winner of Westfield's design competition will be announced next week.
