This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with day classes over 5 x 1 week blocks. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, research tasks, multiple-choice questions

Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

This course is delivered in Away From Base mode and is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live in NSW, meet AbStudy eligibility, meet Smart and Skilled eligibility, and are available for the duration of the course
Away From Base involves studying via online learning combined with intensive residential blocks. Tutorial support is offered face-to-face, online or in group tuition sessions, or a combination of delivery modes
Government funding supports the travel, accommodation and meal costs for AbStudy compliant students participating in the intensive blocks.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Guiding qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 13 units of competency, including 9 core and 4 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
