This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
You must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed training and assessing area, as evidenced by:
Copies of any relevant qualifications, statements of attainment or trade certificates, and
Your resume that clearly highlights your experience in the area you would like to teach and assess, and
Answering a series of set questions explaining how you intend to apply your qualification and experience to train and assess others. These questions will be provided to you.
During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Experience in working in an industry directly related to your teaching area
The ability to work with others and are comfortable reporting to a manager or supervisor
Strong communication skills with great presentation skills (advanced language and literacy skills)
Confidence with technology and able to access and navigate the internet, use word processing and presentation software

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 6 core and 6 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
