    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • A National Police Check as evidenced by a copy of your certificate, and

    • That you have achieved a Year 12 high school certificate or an equivalent as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or

    • That you have recent or current work experience in Information Technology as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer or your resume or

    • That you have completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test with scores of 5 in Learning, 5 in Reading, 5 in Writing, 5 in Numeracy, 5 in Oral Communication and 3 in Digital Literacy as evidenced by a copy of your test results

    • This is designed to ensure your LLN skills match the demands of the course, and to connect you with any personalised study support you may need.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Commitment and drive to manage a heavy course load

    • Adequate time to complete course work and additional study outside of class hours

    • Access to a desktop PC, laptop or equivalent computing device and a strong internet connection

    • Completed a Certificate IV in Information Technology (with a recommended preference in Networking) or equivalent work experience.

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 20 Units of competency, including 6 core and 14 speciality units.
