Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Identify levelling and tensioning requirements for saw blades
Level and tension circular saws
Sharpen circular saws, band saws and planer blades
Maintain wide band saw blades
Assess and maintain saw performance
Recondition band mill wheels
Replace saws, blades and guides, tungsten tips and stellite tips

To be eligible for this course, you must:
Be employed as an apprentice in industry
Register with an Apprenticeship Network Provider who will support your application

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Saw Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 26 units of competency, including 19 core and 7 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
