    Build on your skills in the fashion business or in product development and learn to manage the textile production process from start to finish. Get the chance to present your final collection of 10 pieces at your end-of-year show.

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • Successful completion of the Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles, or equivalent, as evidenced by a copy of your transcript or certificate, and

    • Previous work experience in apparel, fashion or textile design or production, as evidenced by your resume and a letter from your employer. Your resume and letter need to demonstrate the application of specialist creative, technical and/or management skills and knowledge.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • An interest in fashion and garment creation

    • A reasonable degree of physical fitness to complete machining tasks

    • A high level of computer skills to use design programs

    • The ability to budget for equipment, fabric and other consumables you need to complete your projects and create your garments

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Advanced Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 10 units of competency, including 0 core and 10 speciality units.
