    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • This course is offered as a traineeship. Enquire today to check the eligibility requirements.

    • 1 year of experience working in farming and agriculture, as evidenced by your resume, a cover letter outlining your experience and a letter from an employer or supervisor

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Intermediate level fitness to manage physical demands

    • Experience in handling agricultural machinery and equipment

    • Comfort working with livestock across all stages of their life-cycle

    • Relevant employment or access to appropriate simulated workplace environments, if you can't attend your TAFE NSW campus to access TAFE properties or case study properties

    • Your own PPE clothing, including a cotton long-sleeved shirt, cotton long-sleeved pants, leather work boots and a brimmed hat suitable for working outdoors in line with industry requirements

    • Vaccination and health screenings as you will be working with livestock

    • Access to a computer and internet, if you are completing any of your training online

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Agriculture qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 2 core and 10 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
