    Create game and film environments and push your designs in exciting directions. Design an alien landscape, sci-fi architecture and an interdimensional portal. Use light and colour in unique ways and explore edge control and atmospheric perspective.

    Learning outcomes

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Create miniature draft thumbnails and tonal studies for good lighting, to prepare for making an environment

    • Research, select and apply illustration techniques, such as edge control, atmospheric perspective, using warm and cool colour combinations and a specific colour scheme

    • Research the use of light and colour in concept environments and develop your own individual approach

    • Create a landscape painting that features an alien structure

    • Design a science fiction interior room or corridor and a temple dimensional portal, using Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom Cintiq

    • Work on a creative project of your own choice
