Bachelor of Community Services

• Use models, theories and methods of community services work interventions to help individuals and communities

• Advocate for social action and social change

• Generate, develop and analyse intervention strategies in community services delivery and practice

• Provide specialist community coordination and service management based on research and evidence-based practice

• Build your communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with different teams in the community services field and meet the needs of individuals, groups and communities

• Apply problem-solving skills to new and complex situations in community services practices

• Graduate with a Bachelor Degree (AQF 7)

• Four hundred hours of practical experience in the workplace

• The skills and confidence to effectively work with diverse teams, individual clients, groups and communities

• Experience in advocating and implementing social action and change

• This course has been accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)

You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

• A NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent OR

• A Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or its equivalent OR

• A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification OR

• Successful completion of at least one year full-time (or equivalent) study in a course at a higher education institution

Note:

• Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

• A Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• A National Police Check

• Any additional evidence your work placement provider requires

• A strong commitment to human rights, diversity, advocacy, social justice, inclusion, collaboration, equity, First Nations' self-determination, anti-oppressive practice and social change

• Flexibility to study online, with the knowledge that this will require independent learning skills

• The capacity to apply higher education study skills that include: academic integrity, time management, organisation, self-directed learning, being an active member of an online learning community and using a range of online technologies
