The Certificate IV in Interior Decoration gives you the skills and knowledge you need to work as an assistant interior decorator or interior designer for retail, consulting and building businesses.
In this course, you will explore the world of interior decoration and learn a broad range of specialised and technical decorating skills. You will also develop your capacity for planning, designing and arranging space, interior styling, specifying finishes and furnishings, colour selection, and purchasing.

Interior decorators may need to enter construction sites as part of their employment.
In Australia, before you can enter a construction site you must complete the general induction training program (commonly known as White Card training).
This is specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007).

Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.
At the start of your course, you will receive your timetable. You will need to study all core units and a range of additional units.

10 elective units, consisting of: at least 7 units from the electives listed below up to 3 units from the electives listed below, any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome. Units selected from other Training Packages and accredited courses must not duplicate units available within this qualification.
