    The Certificate IV in Business (Administration) will help you become a vital part of any team in a variety of different industries.

    Every sector demands administrative support to ensure the smooth running of its business. Growth is expected in this field right across the globe.

    Learn valuable organisational, communication and problem-solving skills that will carry you into roles like an executive assistant, project assistant, administration officer and more. You could work in a number of exciting industries, including technology, finance, advertising, travel and education, as well as government and charities.

    TAFE NSW utilises Virtual Enterprise software, which mimics real workplace documents, including organisation charts, policies and procedures.

    Fees and locationsStarting dates, course fees and locations

    As an international student, you can choose from a range of different courses, offered at various locations. Experience vibrant spaces, libraries, cafes and gyms, as well as places to make friends and socialise with other students.

    Additional costs

    Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.

    Structure and unitsWhat you will study

    At the start of your course, you will receive your timetable. You will need to study all core units and a range of additional units.


    6 core units plus 6 elective units, of which: 2 elective units must be selected from Group A for the remaining 4 elective units:up to 4 units may be selected from Groups A – J If not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from a Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course. This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to: For specialisation in Business Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group C.

    You may gain entry to another university using your TAFE NSW qualifications. Acceptance and the amount of credit transfer may vary depending on the university and course studies. Check your credit eligibility.
