Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • Successful completion of the Certificate II in Engineering (Jewellery) or an equivalent qualification as evidenced by a copy of your transcript

  • A portfolio of your creative work that supports your technical jewellery making skills. Your portfolio should include at least 6 images of your original jewellery. These can be photographs, drawings, CAD images, or a combination of these and can be from formal study or your work experience. Please combine these images into a single PDF.

  • Take part in a pre-admission interview

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Proficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to a year 12 level

  • Competent skills in 2D and 3D forms

  • An unwavering interest in visual arts and the creative industry

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Visual Arts (Jewellery) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 units of competency, including 6 core and 9 speciality units.

Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
